Brush your teeth in just 6 seconds!!!

If you had a choice between spending 2 minutes or 6 seconds brushing your teeth, you would probably go with the faster method. The Blizzident custom 3D-printed toothbrush is a bizarre-looking toothbrush alternative that promises a 6-second scrub of your pearly whites.
Blizzident
The Blizzident custom 3D printed toothbrush looks a little strange but promises to clean your teeth in just 6 seconds. So what would you choose, 3 minutes or 6 seconds?
It is actually custom-made and involves you having a 3D scan or impression of your teeth. If your dentist takes an impression, then it needs to be scanned into a 3D file. This is then sent to Blizzident, which 3D prints your own unique toothbrush.
You place the 3D printed toothbrush into your mouth and make biting and chewing motions. Lots of soft bristles are angled so as to thoroughly clean teeth and gums. The way the bristles are angled and the fact that it is a perfect fit for your mouth, mean it is able to clean properly but more efficiently.
The downside to this is cost. Whereas you can pick up a normal toothbrush very cheaply, the Blizzident’s more complex manufacturing process means it costs you $299. It is recommended that after one year you replace the custom toothbrush, which then costs another $159. Plus don’t forget you need to pay for that 3D scan. Rather alot of money for keeping your teeth white, especially when the same result can be achieved with a cheaper alternative.
Blizzident has promised to share clinical studies on the efficiency of the product, which will certainly be interesting. But as for me, I’ll be using to my good old fashioned toothbrush, for 3 minutes twice a day of course!

Time is near to replace Mouse by IMotion 3D Controller. !

Singapore based company, Intellect Motion started to design the iMotion 3D controller a few years ago with the hope of utilizing the controller to help in the field of sports rehabilitation. Sometime last year, the company started making moves to bring the controller to the Gaming world and have now announced the launch of a crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter. The small controller will allow people to replace their mouse and simply wave their arms to move the controller/character on screen.
The iMotion 3D controller straps to the hand and uses a combination of LED sensors, accelerometers and gyroscopes to track the movements of a player’s body and use the player’s hand as the controller. The team at Engadget had a little practice with the controller and found that after a little getting used to, the controller worked quite well with Angry Birds and a shoot ‘em up game.
One of the highlights about the controller is the fact that it can be used with any app or game without any special equipment other than the controller itself and the iMotion software that will come with it. Intellect Motion plan to release an SDK with the controller to enable developers of games and apps to tweak their products for a better user experience with the iMotion controller and game, making certain actions more precise for example.

Rhino Shield - Smartphones screen protector available now!!!

Move Over Gorilla, Rhino Shield Is Here To Save The Mobile Screen

Gorilla glass is used for smart devices in order to help users keep their beloved device safe from scratches and cracks. Only there are people all over the world who are having to order a new screen for their iPhone after they dropped it, so we can safely assume that the Gorilla glass is not infallible. Now though, Evolutive Labs, a company born from Cambridge University, have successfully funded and developed the Rhino Shield screen protector, which according to the team at EL, will leave the Gorilla well and truly in the mist.

Impressive Functionality
The rhino Shield is supposedly able to withstand 5 times the impact that Gorilla 2 glass can. Some people even call the shield hammer proof. The designers haven’t simply taken the brawn into account though, the Rhino shield is extremely clever in the way it actively improves user experience.
Users of Rhino Shield can enjoy:
  • Smooth touchscreen functionality – No stickiness that hinders the function of the touchscreen. Fingers will glide across the screen ultra-thin 0.29 mm cover as if it isn’t there at all.
  • Impressively hard exterior – The hardness of the cover is H3 which will protect screens against keys, coins, nails pens and plenty of other pesky objects.
  • Smudge free screen – Not only does the Rhino shield protect against impact and scratches, the custom formulated polymer actually repels different oils which means no finger prints or smudges.
Backed By Thousands
The Rhino Shield project was taken to Kickstarter in order for developers to get the financial backing they needed to make the shield a reality. The concept was so popular that during the 30 day campaign, 3674 backers managed to surpass the £50,000 goal and raise £73,716 in total.
Move Over Gorilla, Rhino Shield Is Here To Save The Mobile Screen
Available Now
Since the end of the crowd funding campaign in April, developers have worked hard to bring the Rhino Shield to the public and now users can finally experience what may be the ultimate form of screen protection for smart devices.

Shields can be bought from $29 – $40 depending on the type of device. Exact sizes will be supplied as the name of the particular model is required while ordering.

So Pakistani media is always criticized for not showing that material which Pakistani nation want to watch, instead they are showing such material which is against our Culture, Religious and Views.

History of A/C in Cars!!!

Early Attempts at Air Conditioning

  • Ice played a prominent role in several 19th-century cooling devices.
The modern type of air conditioning system had its predecessors. In the 1830s in Florida, a hospital employed a system that blew air over a bucket of ice to lend cooling to some of its patients. When President Garfield was on his deathbed, a similar device was used to keep his room cool. A device invented by Willis Carrier called an "Apparatus for Treating Air" was built in 1902 and was the closest direct ancestor of the air conditioner.

The First True Air Conditioning Units

  • Building air conditioners began to arrive in 1902.
In the same year that Carrier's apparatus for treating air was created, Alfred Wolff designed an air conditioning system to cool the New York Stock Exchange. Wolff's system employed refrigeration equipment already in use, but the Armour Building in Kansas City, Missouri, became the first office building to install an air conditioning shortly afterward. Unlike Wolff's system, there were individual temperature controls for different parts of the building.

Air Conditioning for the Masses

  • In 1904, many people got their first taste of air conditioning in the Missouri Building at the World's Fair in St. Louis. From there it was a gradual proliferation of air conditioning in office buildings, hospitals and other public places. In 1929, the first "room cooler," a small home air conditioning unit, was unveiled. It would be another 10 years before any type of air conditioning would be offered on a car.

The First Automobile Air Conditioner

  • The Packard automobile company debuted the first automobile air conditioning in 1939. It was rudimentary by modern standards. There was no control to adjust the temperature and the air was blown forward from the back of the car. Although this first attempt was awkward, by 1969 more than half the cars sold in the United States would have air conditioning.

Modern Automotive Air Conditioning

  • Many tractors are equipped with air conditioning today.
According to a 2003 book by Susanna Robbins, at that time 98 to 99 percent of automobiles in the United States were equipped with air conditioning. It didn't just stop at cars, either. Trucks and even farm tractor cabs often have air conditioning built in. As a sign of the universal nature of car air conditioning, most vehicles are designed to be more aerodynamic with the windows up--with the most profound effect at higher speeds.

Steve Jobs A Hero, but Mr. Dennis respected Zero.

Both of these men died in the same month of the same year.
Steve was largely considered a hero, while Dennis was largely ignored by the world. Only a handful of programmers who knows the real value of Dennis’ work even know of his death.

Without Steve Jobs, there is no iPhone,iPad, iPod or Macintosh.
Without Dennis there is no C. without C, there is no Unix, Windows, or Linux. Without C there is no C++ nor Objective C.
There is no MacOS X, no iOS, no Photoshop, no FLStudio, no Firefox, no Safari, no Google Chrome, no Playstation, no Xbox. In fact, 90% of the applications in the world are written in C or C++ or Objective C.

If you think Dennis deserves our respect, please pass this along.

GSM SIM Card is Finally Hacked, Puts 750 Million Users at Risk

The SIM was one of the few common things in tech which were considered impossible to hack. Until now. Karsten Nohl of Security Research Labs (based out of Germany) has finally got a way past the 56-digit unique code and found a simple process which leaves an estimated 750 million SIM cards at risk.
The research was done on a 1000 SIM cards and only the ones which were using the old DES (Data Encryption Standard) standard were found vulnerable. Cracking them is super-easy and takes just 2 minutes. A message is sent to the target SIM card while disguised as the carrier. In response, a message is received containing information needed to find a way past the 56-digit code or the digital key which can allow the hacker to take control of the target SIM.
After getting this information and taking control, the intruder can easily listen to your calls, send text messages and in short, have control over every form of data on your SIM card.
Mr. Nohl said:
“We can spy on you. We know your encryption keys for calls. We can read your S.M.S.’s. More than just spying, we can steal data from the SIM card, your mobile identity, and charge to your account.”
In all, about 25% of the SIM cards which were tested were found susceptible to such penetration. Newer technologies like NFC might be at risk too.
D.E.S. encryption, which is vulnerable to such hacks – is used on about half of the about six billion cellphones. Over the past decade, most operators have adopted a stronger encryption method, called Triple D.E.S., but many SIM cards still run the old standard.
The GSM Association hasn’t confirmed this just yet though as it will investigate the case first but if this, in any way is true, it will pose some serious threats to people using SIM card for much more complex purposes than calling and texting. Mobile payments that is.

Update: Voice and SMS Packages to Continue, Only Chat Rooms to End

It appears that the telecom sector was yesterday stormed with the biggest ever mis-understanding, as a directive coming from PTA ordered telecom operators to dis-continue Voice and SMS Packages. Same was interpreted by media and the telecom operators with whom we had confirmed the directive.
However, it is now emerging that that only voice and SMS chat rooms are to get blocked, and the usual SMS bundles and voice bundles that telecom companies offer are going to remain intact.
This mis-understanding was spread across the telecom industry as we had spoken with at least a dozen telco officials who were equally shocked at the decision.
PTA’s yesterday letter which clearly read “Packages Offered by CMTOs Contrary to Moral Values of the Society” is now asked to interpret as chat rooms that are offered by cellular companies, with which their customers could chat anonymously with other subscribers.
While there was no mention of chat rooms in the letter, the term used as chat packages is apparently what had confused everyone.
Telco officials have confirmed ProPakistani that they have received verbal communication from PTA about the issue and it is likely that PTA will issue a follow-up directive or a clarification later today.
A telco official said that they still think that SMS and Voice bundles are to be stopped, unless there comes a new directive clarifying the situation. He said that PTA must had used the term “Chat Rooms” instead of “Chat Packages” as this is how telcos advertise the offering.
Furthermore, Chat Rooms are offerings, not packages and should have been termed accordingly, the official concluded.
We will update this story as soon as we receive the clarification from PTA, or any development on the story.

Skype 3D calling is ready!!!

THE web telephone service Skype has confirmed it has developed the technology to create 3D video calls, which could allow workers to send body doubles to work in the distant future.
Mark Gillett, corporate vice-president for Skype, announced teams had been working with state-of-the-art tools in order to capture 3D footage.
"We've seen a lot of progress in screens, and a lot of people now buy TVs and computer monitors that are capable of delivering a 3D image," he told the BBC.
Skype has readied a version of the messaging program capable of 3D video calling but is waiting for widespread adoption of consumer technology capable of making good use of the feature. The interview was given to the BBC as part of Skype's 10th birthday celebrations. Skype will also be giving away free Wi-Fi allowances to all Skype users today.
"We have it in the lab, we know how to make it work, and we're looking at the ecosystem of devices and their capability to support it in order to make a decision when we might think about bringing something like that to market," he added. Skype posted an advert in April that suggested it was looking to develop technology that would allow it to create body-doubles for employees unable to attend work meetings.
The ad said it wanted a system "that gives the remote worker a true seat at the table, the ability to look around the room, turn to a colleague and have a side conversation.
"Longer-term, this same platform will enable high-definition communication scenarios for consumers over Skype," it said.
The news comes a month after the BBC announced it was ditching 3D as a medium following a two-year trial. It ran a pilot scheme in which it televised a number of programmes in 3D, including Strictly Come Dancing and the ceremonies for the Olympics, last year.

3D is an emerging technology which many believe will feature heavily in the future of media consumption and entertainment but has suffered from a false start. Program makers such as the BBC and ESPN have notably ended 3D broadcasts and UK retailer John Lewis has remarked upon "dwindling consumer interest in the technology" says the BBC. Also a few hours ago Nintendo unveiled the 2DS handheld games console, removing the 3D features of its current best-selling device, however that decision might have more to do with price-points for the young gamer market than anything else.

Spanish rail tickets now available globally through SilverRail

Spain’s largest rail operator, Renfe, has partnered with SilverRail Technologies, the developer of the first global distribution platform specialising in passenger rail, to sell tickets for its entire network to customers all over the world. Renfe tickets have been incorporated into SilverRail’s global multi-country ticketing platform, SilverCore, which integrates all operators and countries into one system that can be easily accessed by online travel agents (OTAs), travel management companies and traditional travel agents. Renfe tickets will initially be available through leading European online booking tools i:FAO’s cytric and KDS, and will soon be offered through other corporate and leisure distributors.

With EU countries expected to invest an estimated $500 billion in the rail sector over the next 10 years, it is clear that rail travel will become more attractive to consumers. Renfe’s customer base is continuing to grow as is the number of routes it operates. For example, the route between Alicante and Madrid saw an increase in customer numbers of 38,000 in just one year, taking it to over 745,000 passengers in 2012. This popular route is now being operated by an AVE high-speed train in two-hours and thirty-minutes.

“Rail travel is currently seeing a renaissance and on some European routes customers are choosing to take a train rather than fly,” said Jesus De Juan Menchero, Head of Commercial and Distribution for Renfe. “Our partnership with SilverRail is going to enable us to keep up with high demand and make the booking process as easy as possible for our passengers, particularly our international customers.”

Alain van West, Vice President Business Development at SilverRail, describes Renfe as a key addition to the SilverRail network. “We are committed to making purchasing rail travel as simple as possible. This partnership with Renfe is a large step towards achieving our goal of making rail just as easy to book as flights. This partnership moves us closer to our vision of creating a global distribution network for rail travel,” he said.

SilverRail has already signed on rail companies in countries including the UK, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, the US and Canada, with more additions before the end of this year.

Dawn News Group in Pakistan

Dawn News was Pakistan's 24-hour Urdu news channel. Based in Karachi, the station is a subsidiary of Pakistan Herald Publications Limited (PHPL), Pakistan's largest English-language media group. The test transmission of the station occurred on May 25, 2007, and the channel went live on July 23, 2007. On May 15, 2010, Dawn News converted into an Urdu news channel after successful test transmission of four hours a day. The conversion is mainly due to its financial crisis and thin viewership in the country. Now Express 24/7replaced it as the Pakistan's only English news channel for a brief time, which was also then shut down by Express Media Group for financial reasons.
Dawn News' Test Transmission was launched by former President of PakistanPervez Musharraf. The complete launch of the channel coincided with the result of the Supreme Court case which cleared the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, who had been suspended by General Musharraf. The channel was initially housed in Haroon House, the head-office of PHPL, but later moved to its current premises in West Wharf, Karachi.
The channel has an online stream available on its web site for foreign viewing.

History

The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah launched the Dawn newspaper in the 1940s- it is the oldest English language newspaper in Pakistan.
The Dawn Media Network launched DawnNews, Pakistan’s first English language news and current affairs television channel, according to DawnNews they vow to "provide its viewers with a medium that is responsible, credible and balanced.
After a brief test transmission, the channel went live on July 23, 2007. Over past three years the channel has established its fame being the most credible voice in the murky pool of electronic media, in Pakistan.
Probably, the most talented and hardworking journalists of present time have been associated with the channel since the beginning. Some of them left to pursue their career in the same profession. Nonetheless, with superb hard-work and dedicated they converted the dream into a reality.
Keeping in view the public demand, DawnNews has decided to launch a separate Urdu news channel. But before launching the separate channel, it has started a three-hour Urdu transmission within its English channel’s airtime. The purpose is to get valuable feedback from the viewers. So far the feedback is tremendous.
DawnNews has broken a number of big stories. It was DawnNews which exclusively broadcast the footage of the assassin of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. It was DawnNews that got official confirmation from Pakistan that lone surviving gunman of Mumbai terror attacks – Ajmal Kasab – was a Pakistani.
Besides, DawnNews has covered major events including Lal Masjid operation, lawyers’ movement, military operations in tribal areas and 2008 general elections. Most of the time, the channel beat its rivals despite limited resources.
Dawn News transmission is watched in all urban areas of Pakistan. It also has access to the rural population, wherever the cable reaches. Dawn News is in agreement with several satellite TV channels, which include BBC World, Sky News, ABC News and Al-Jazeera and can be watched in the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa. In U.K. it can be accessed through Sky cable at Channel 845.

France says strike on Syria possible by Wednesday

French President, Francois Hollande, said on Friday that a military strike on Syria could come by Wednesday.
He was of the view that Britain's surprise rejection of armed intervention would not affect his government's stand.
In an interview to the Le Monde daily on Friday, Hollande said that France wanted firm action against the Damascus regime.
The French leader had earlier vowed to “punish” President Bashar al-Assad’s government for an alleged chemical weapons attack on August 21, which killed hundreds.
The president declared that the British Parliament’s withdrawal from the proposed action against Syria would not affect France’s resolve.
“Each country is free to choose whether to take part in such an operation or not. That holds true for Britain and France,” he said.
He ruled out strikes while inspectors from the United Nations were in Syria investigating the alleged chemical attack. They would leave on Saturday, according to UN Chief Ban ki-moon.
The French parliament is due to meet on Wednesday for an emergency Syria session.
In support of his decision, Hollande also said there was a “body of indicators pointing to the responsibility of the Damascus regime.”
He declared that the chemical attack could not go unpunished.
He further stated that he would have a “meaningful exchange” with the president of the United States (US), Barack Obama on Friday.
The US, while reserving the right to act alone, had also stated that it was hoping for an international coalition in Syria.
Hollande, however, ruled out strikes while the UN inspectors were in Syria investigating the alleged attack. UN chief Ban Ki-moon has said they were expected to leave Syria by Saturday morning.

Google Street View Driver Detained by Thai Villagers

Google Street View Driver Detained by Thai Villagers

If you were ever angry at Google for photographing your house and putting it up in Street View for all the world to see, learn that you are not alone. And then maybe send a nice gift basket to the people of Sa-eab village, northern Thailand.
About 20 Sa-eab residents stopped a Google Street View car and detained the driver, accusing him of being a government agent who was working for a controversial dam project.
The Thai villagers did not wait for the authorities to intervene and decided to take matters into their own hands. First they took the driver to a local office to interrogate him.
The man must have given the right answers, as the 20 Sa-eab residents then took him to a temple, where they asked him to swear on a Buddha statue that he was not spying on them on behalf of the dam project, according to Thai news website Prachatai.
Eventually, the villagers released the Google Street View driver and apologized both to him and to Google for the misunderstanding. They even apologized to the entire Thai nation and the world and explained that there had been many repeated cases of agents trying to survey the area in disguise.
Google responded by acknowledging the fact that any new project, including Street View, may encounter unexpected challenges and insisted that their mapping project fully respects Thai laws and only features images taken on public property.
Sa-eab, Phrae province, is located about 385 miles north of Bangkok and is known for its opposition to dam projects, both by environmental groups and by local villagers.
Thailand was the 35th country in the world to have Google Street View available and in 2011, the local tourism authority actually partnered with Google for a joint initiative to promote tourism by displaying images of top attractions and streets in several major cities.

This is not the first time the Google Street View project has had problems. The project is aimed at mapping the world with the help of photographs taken from passing cars, but its technology also picks up Wi-Fi signals. UK authorities recently ordered Google to delete all personal data gathered that way or otherwise face a lawsuit.
